I always enjoy big adventures.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, you will find that THE LEGENDS OF THE REALM will provide one of the biggest adventures you've ever read! Thanks for posting!!!
DeleteBig adventures are right up my alley
ReplyDeleteI really love a book when it can pull me into worlds and situations I have never entered before, and often "epic adventure" (a somewhat grandiose handle) accomplishes this with the greatest facility for me.
ReplyDeleteFor me, one of the most fascinating aspects of the "epic adventure" genre is that invariably, the hero / heroine is often faced with impossible odds . . . and yet they are able to overcome those obstacles, with their character and reputation still intact. Those "situations and worlds" you mention are dealt with decisively . . . and they often provide knowledge and wisdom to deal with our own, rather mundane - but still very important - issues. Thanks so much for your reply!

ReplyDeleteThank you for your interest in the books. Can you tell us what draws you to this particular type of book?
DeleteI love epic adventures because it takes me to places that are so fantastic that it beggars the imagination. Every time I start a new story a new world is opened up for me.
DeleteJoscelyn, your comment made me think of a quote from Anne Of Green Gables . . . "Every day is fresh, with no mistakes in it!" And Anne was one who was captivated by imagination, as well! Thanks for posting!
DeleteI have loved fantasy every since I read Tolkien in high school, and Locke has continued this!
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of a rather humorous anecdote; someone was using the subways in New York, and came across the graffiti, "FRODO LIVES!!!" C.S. Lewis, and the Chronicles of Narnia, were my big fantasy escape. I still have the boxed set I received for Christmas when I was 10 years old! Thanks for posting!
DeleteMy thoughts are the same as others here - I enjoy getting "lost" in a whole new world. It stretches my mind and imagination.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most enjoyable aspects of the imagination is that ANYONE can "go there," anytime they want. It's a free trip! Thanks for posting, Margaret!
DeleteMary T. Morris: I love adventure/suspense books, and Thomas Locke's books are about the best!
ReplyDeleteMary, are you familiar with Thomas Locke's FAULT LINES series? It will seriously challenge your worldview! Thanks for posting!
